Explore Batemans Bay

Batemans Bay is a 3 and a half hour drive south of Sydney and is a great destination to use as a base to explore the Eurobodalla region.

In 2019, Follow the Sun Relay bloggers visited the beautiful area and had a blast. Here are some of their highlights:

The Big4 Batemans Bay Beach Resort is in a great location, right on the beach and has many things to offer families. A heated swimming pool, kart hire, tennis courts, jumping pillow and an exceptional camp kitchen with an indoor games room, to name a few.

There are many hidden gems around the region and when you detour off the main tourist route, you can discover the most magnificent surprises. We pulled into Tuross Head to have lunch and we immediately fell in love the water views from every angle. The boys did a little hand reel fishing at the small jetty near the boat ramp and although they could see plenty of bream, none were biting.

A local gave a hot tip to check out Guerilla Bay and the 1.3km return cliff top walk at Burrewarra Point. The point has incredible ocean views towards Broulee Island and beyond.

Another must do in the area is the town of Mogo. With its eclectic shops featuring hem arcs, ice creameries, vintage and collectables, it has a great village feel about it. This small town of just over 300 people has its own zoo too which boasts the largest collection of primates in Australia! Definitely stop in Mogo for a look.

There is so much to see and do in this region, with many beaches, bays, rivers and bush walking trails to choose from.
